this class will cover tips and tricks learned from judging meads at IKBG, there are some very simple steps you can utilize to give you tasty drinkable meads a lot sooner than you think. While no actual recipes will be given out participants should leave with a solid set of guidelines for mead making.

A class for experienced or beginner embroiderers who are interested in learning the art of Opus Anglicanum, English gold work. We will cover the basic stitches required, preferred materials, options and variances available, and period techniques. This is a hands on class. Bardic Roundtable "Bardic Arts and A&S competitions" - The moderator will be Lady Kateryn Draper (mka Karen Dollinger),

Do you sing or tell stories and are curious about entering competitions? Do you run A&S competitions and want to know how to incorporate the bardic arts? Do you have ideas about improving Division I of the Regional A&S Faire? If so, this class might interest you. There will be a brief presentation about the rules of Middle Kingdom A&S Faires, and then an open discussion about the challenges and rewards of different styles of bardic competions as well as opinions about Regional A&S. , time 1pm Saturday afternoon.

Scavenger Hunt- Starting at Troll on Friday night until 1 hour before the fire circle on Saturday. The scavenger hunt will involve youth with their parents locating different people around the camp and obtaining their signatures. Prizes will be given.

Games- Games run by Gwenllian Bengrych ferch Rhys on Saturday morning. 10am-11am

Drumming & Dancing- Saturday afternoon 2-3:30 pm, activity for around an hour and a half. Children will make their own drums and percussion instruments, learn simple drumming rhythms, and basic belly dance moves in preparation for the family friendly fire circle that night.

Water Battle- Squirt gun/water balloon fight between the fighters and the children. To take place after the fighting has ended. Approximately 5 pm Rain option of other activities/crafts.

Family Friendly Fire Circle- 8 pm - 9 pm Hour long family-safe fire circle including drumming, belly dancing, s'mores, ect. Winners of the scavenger hunt will be announced.

There are a variety of Bardic activites planed at NOWM XIII!

The Magic Carpet Kavehane, northern Oaken's finest Celtistani bardic coffee house, will be open throughout much of NOWM and will serve as the focal point of most of the bardic activities. The price of a cup of coffee or a sweet is still a song, a tale, a tune, or a dance. The kavehane is sponsored by the Gorsedd, northern Oaken's household of bards.

'Struth, so confident are my Lady and mee in our respective Manlinesse and Girlienesse, that we declare this to be a Bardic Brawl, second of that name, and challenge all comers to present themselves in Competition.

Let these bee the Rules governing this Girlie-Manne Competition:

The tyme of this Challenge shall be at Dawning of the Sun. (Noe, noe, that is to earlie. At that Houre will I be responding to my ee-mail.) The Tyme shall be at an hour to bee later named before the commencing of the Courts Various.

The location shall be the Magic Carpet Kavehane, a notorious Inne of ill repute, frequented by Lay-Abowts and Bardes.

Each competitor shall have but a single Teame-mate, neither more nor lesse, be it Spouse, or Other of Significants, or Just Frend.

Each Teamme must register for competition during the Daye of the Maneuvers, at that self-sayme Kavehane.

Each Teamme shall present two bardic Peeces, of not more than five minutes duration each, exemplifyinge the Masculine Vertues and the Vertues Feminine.

These Peeces may be presented one-and-one by individual members of the Teamme, or by both Together, or in other combinations if Such bee possible.

There is no Restriction on the content of the Peeces. Let it bee Song, or Dance, or Taile; Acrobatiques or Jungling or Breathing Fire; or Instrumental Musique, or any other Thinge which is intended for performance before an Audience, so long as they conforme to the Theame set out above.

Torchlight Tourney— “But Obi Wan. I can’t see a thing with the Blast Shield down!” This year’s Tourney will be a Round Robin. List opens at 8:30 for warm ups and inspection—tournament at 9:00 pm.
