Battlefield Schedule
1 hour before melee begins, General Syr Theodric will teach a Basic Melee class, which will include field battle and bridge battle drilling.
Field BattlesThe army would like to do three field battles. Here is the layout of them:
Battle 1
This is a standard field battle which is to be fought to the last man
Battle 2
Each side will have a King and with the King will be a non combatant that will bear a banner. The banner carrier must be with the King at all times with the banner fully displayed. Victory condition is to kill the enemy King (Regicide).
Battle 3
This is a standard field battle in which we will have combat archery and siege. This will be fought to the last man.
Battle of Rome
This is similar to a great wall battle but the layout is broken. There will be combat archery and siege, so the walls are either double stacked or single stacked. Only siege may fight over a double stacked entry. The fight will be over control of the entrance. In the actual battle, there will be five entrances. For purposes of the practice, we will fight over 2 openings. These will be unlimited resurrection battles, time limit to be determined. CA and Siege are allowed in this battle. Gleaning is allowed.
Depending on the number of hay bales you will have, please use the attached PDF as a guide for setting up the field.
Bridge Battle
This year at Pennsic, we will be fighting for control of the center of 5 bridges. Due to size constraints and number of soldiers for practices, we will be using 2 bridges, one of each size. The bridges are to be 30’ apart with 27’ and 18’ opening. Length of the bridges is to be 45’. The battle will be fought a few times using unlimited resurrections, time limit to be determined. CA is allowed for this battle.
Simulated Woods Battle
Bales of hay will be used to mark where trees are located at. No one may fight over the trees. Each side will have only one unit (5-8 soldiers) which can run. The rest can only walk (Fat man walking speed max). There will be two banners that will be fought over. This will be unlimited resurrection battles, time limit to be determined. CA but not siege is allowed. Gleaning is also allowed.
Rapier Schedule
9:00 List opens for authorizations, inspections, and warmupsCecil's Movie Madness Tourney:
10:00 Melee practice
12:30 Lunch break (list will remain open if there is a marshal present)
1:30 Cecil's Melee Madness Tourney
X:00 Round Robin tourney (shortly after the first tourney ends)
4:00 list closes
Fighters will have cards describing standard movie tricks, such as swinging from a chandelier, kicking sand in the opponent's eyes, or surviving a thrust because the blade struck the cigar case. These cards can be played during the fight to gain an "unfair" advantage. The first round will be 1v1. The second round will be a hero versus two villains, and only the hero will be allowed to use cards. The third will feature three villains, and again, only the hero will use cards.
