Lord Nial is at home sick, everyone wish him well and Rutgur is running the meeting tonight.

Big news:
The ownership of the Shore Center is changing, we will know for sure by mid October, most likely it is going to be a private company. They will honor our lease through December when we normally renew. It is likely that rent will go up, there's talk of them putting in a restaurant downstairs and a lot of groups will not be able to renew thier leases. We may be able to renew, the city of Euclid is planning a medieval/rennaisance faire, and may help us with our rent in exchange for help with that. More details as things become clear.

Rutgur then called for a cry of Aye or Nay for having meeting at 8:30 or 9:00 I believe the aye's had it for 9:00 meetings.

There was some sort of activity last weekend...

Coronation:

The autocrat stepped forward to thank everyone, what a wonderful event, yay us! there were 655 people on site, the royals enjoyed the event, thanks to deputies Katy and Snowden for keeping Darius sane and helping out a lot. The Feast was wonderful, 216 people sat feast plus the servers and none went under fed.

Lyonnete thanked everyone who entered the A&S competition, the fighters won the 'melee' and if you were a combatant who entered and did not collect your prize, please see her. Thanks also to the judges, many members of the populace who did not know they were going to be judging an A&S competition were drafted on the spot as judges.

Thanks to Bastian for his hard work on the Castle Wall to hide the mundane gym equipment and on the site tokens. Bastian thanked everyone who helped him, and he has some extra tokens if you'd like a souviner, he doesn't want to take them home.

A special thanks to the clean up staff, they were on site until 12:15, a good number of people stayed after the even to help clean up, thank you!

Katy brought roses for all the Coronation staff, they're in water by the window please help yourself and thank you.

Francesca thanked anyone who baked bread, made raviolis or sausages, washed dishes or became a human cuisinart on the day of the event. The cooks are grateful!

Celeste thanked Clariel, Alys, Emmelyn and Arianna for helping her out at the troll table, we did check in 655 people and most of them came between 10 and 12. ow. If you're missing something, Celeste has the Lost and Found, she doesn't want to keep it forever.

Ceinwen was not at meeting, but sends her thanks through Rutgur to everyone who helped out with the lunch kitchen and minding Gold Key.

Guenhwyfar wanted to thank her scribes, there is a complete list of who contributed to the scrolls for the event on the website, something like 11 scribes made 20 scrolls.

Stephan reported that security went off without a hitch, thanks to everyone who volunteered a bit of thier time to security, Sara, Karl and Midori come to mind, also a tip to future security coordinators... make sure you reserve 7 parking spaces for the people without handicaped tags who are really handicapped.

Kathryn thanked her servers, she got a lot of compliments for how smoothly the feast was served.

Conrad thanked Lady Alex, Zuriel and John for helping with the lists, as well as all the marshals and those who helped with set up and tear down of the gym.

Thanks to Olafr for heralding all day, he had a sore throat by the end of the night as well as sore feet from running up and down those stairs!

Thanks to Geoffrey, he was busy all day with his shire reeving, and no doubt has a list of thank yous, though he was not present at meeting.

Aethelstan thanked all the entertainers, Edward, Juna and Fiola (That's misspelled, isn't it?) Shlomo and the storytellers did a wonderful skit, and Karl filled up some empty space nicely with his violin. And the populace in turn thanked Aethelstan for acting as master of ceremonies and making the entertainment at feast run smoothly and professionally.

Thanks to all the teachers who taught at the event, and in particular thanks to Rutgur and Ceinwen for providing chalkboards for classes. And thanks to the kind, patient trolls for keeping the sign up sheets for classes.

DEMOS:

In december there is a cub scout demo, more details as that draws nearer

October 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th is the annual Ohio Mart Stan Hewett Hall Demo in Gwyntarian. Katarina Wanderer is the coordinator for the demo and is looking for 60 people, she has 40 some now. There will be reserved parking for SCA folk, and we will be able to pull up and drop off at the site provided we are there between 7am and 9am, after 9am... you're going to have to carry your stuff from the parking lot. There will be busses running from the parking lot to the site.

Stan Hewett is a beautiful Tudor-revival style mansion and this event is thier main fund raiser for the year keeping the mansion preserved and open to the public. They would like to emphasize the medieval (tudor garb would especially be nice to go with the house) and are giving the SCA a prominent location on the lawn before the house. They're increasing the SCA prominence and location this year, and if this demo goes well, may give us even more space in years to come.

If you are to get into the demo for free your /legal name/ must be on the sign up sheet by Monday, Oct 1st. If you go Thursday afternoon, you will be paying, people are needed for the demo Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fighters and Fencers are needed especially. There will be an archery list and at least two archery demos each day, crossbow friendly. The archery list will not run the same time as the fighting, don't worry.

There will be 24 hour security at the site, they need pavillions, nice chairs, fighters, fencers, archers. If you bring a pavillion, they need to know how large it is for set up, the artisians look very good better than last year, three different leaded glass people will be there (At this point Lady Alex laments that she is moving this weekend, and asked people to come to her house to help her move so she could attend!) no fire. Please support the food vendors on the site, they donate 100% of thier proceeds to the Hall. Please dress well, fighters try not to have any visible duct tape or plastic.

The tempurature is predicted to be 55 degrees and dry. Please contact Katarina Wanderer to volunteer, katakira@aol.com she's turning in the list of names Monday October first.

SCA Buisness:

There will be no armorer's guild this thursday due to possibly bad weather. They will resume next week, see Timothy for details.

There is a new issue of the Forum, enjoy

Also, your chronicler is compiling a list of past officers and a directory. I'll be bringing these lists to meeting with me, check 'em out and make corrections. Thanks!

This is the last meeting this quarter, so if you've had any arts and sciences projects in July, August or September, please see Karl and get your project written on his list for his A&S minister report.

Celeste will be teaching middle eastern dance here at meeting starting next week for men and women with help from some of her troupe sisters and Darius, wear something you can move comfortably in, no tight laced bodices please. See Celeste for details.

There is Archery on sunday as always at Lucus archery, see Darius for details.

Non SCA:

The CWRU Medieval Society is having a demo and event on October 6th "Games of Chivalry" they'd like fighters and fencers as well as other medieval games. They'll do as much as they can on thier own but any help we can offer would be appreciated.

CWRU MS is meeting regularly again, tuesday nights in Carleton Commons... they swear we've permission to park in thier lot so hopefully no more parking tickets.

and I forgot to write down the name of the fellow who's collecting coats for kids... unfortunately the collection ends on Friday so there is only today and tomorrow to get donations to him. Also he has a rapier for sale or trade.

There being no Baron in attendance, that's all for this week's meeting

section break

And that is all for this week...

In service,
Milesent
