This weekend: Border Raids

July 6th-8th Battle of the Inland Seas in Michigan

July 7th Fighter Practice at Sir Will's (expecting 40-50 combatants including house Nosse Eldesar and House Darkyard, there will be combat archery, authorizations, scouting, the whole nine yards)

Also July 7th-- cook out with the Cooks Guild at Ealdred's Outdoor Cooking Symposium

SCA Buisness:

Anyone wishing to help out with the battlefield food and drink table at Pennsic, please see Nial. The table should be manned all through the war.

There will be an auction again at Pennsic this year, see Nial if you're interested in helping out or donating something

Brewers! Blueberries are on sale, see Nial if you're interested in making blueberry ale, blueberry mead or even blueberry beer

What's worse, Lady Sarra still has Lost and Found from the January Event! Anything not claimed by Pennsic will be donated to the auction.

Not attending the Dance guild thingy this weekend? Dame Alys is having a cook book look at her place, come by and puruse her collection of 250+ cook books! starting whenever people show up, ending whenever they leave. See her for details.

July 24th Archery and Scribes guilds will be meeting together again, remember to submitt your award recommendations for Pennsic now! Her Magesty has set the cut off for Pennsic award recommondations at one month before the war... you have six days. (email works! TRM@midrealm.org)

Marsaili is still looking for your empty oatmeal/crisco/coffee/etc containers for the children to use as drums at a future event. She'll be bringing a box to collect them next meeting.

We will be having an event in January! Now, we have been having these for a while now so it shouldn't be too much of a shock, but this year Sir Ephraim's running the show and he'd like it to be a learning experience. If you've never troll'ed before and want to learn how, volunteer and you'll be learning the ropes with an experienced troll, and so on for every job to run the event right up to Autocrat. New fighters, curious on how to cool down properly after fighting on a hot day? how to ground your shield and (something about strapping, can't read my own writting! tch!) see Syr Theo right after meeting for a brief class.

Demos:

Two cub scout groups are looking for demos the week of July 16th - 20th, one in Chagrin Valley.

Baycrafters is coming up September 1, 2 and 3rd, that's Labor Day weekend. Next meeting Darius will start the sign up sheet, you must be on the sheet to get into the Fair free. There will be full heavy and light weapons tournements with prizes, classes running through the day with the schedule printed in the Fair program. Marsaili is handling childrens activities for the demo, see her if you'd like to volunteer to help entertain or teach the kids, she's looking for a herald, a scribe, needleworkers, armorers and maybe a few fighters. See her for details.

Non-SCA:

Dame Alys has three paper castles, two wooden dinosaur skeletons and an Ukranian egg kit, take them! they're free, she doesn't want to take them home!

Shlomo would like to run a photo salon here at the Shore Center on July 24th (same day as Scribes and Archery) Want a photo of yourself in your best garb? For the website? baronial record? just plain personal enjoyment? These will be professional quality portraits for a modest sitting fee (to help pay for the room) and prints at cost. Aiden has plants and obscure medieval herbs, take them, they're free.

Next weekend the Great Lakes Medieval Faire opens, July 7th-8th and July 14-15th Owen Fife and the new world Rennaisance Band will be there, two weekends this year! Hawise has flyers.
