Please pre-register! The above the salt feast is half sold out already. Clean up and site preparation happens this weekend, they'll be camping out friday night, please come out and lend a hand

Volunteers are still wanted for in the kitchen, kitchen clean up and servers. Servers get below the salt feast for free!

Our shire reeve is still looking for volunteers as well

Fighters! just imagine the day, crisp sky, cool breeze, you can hear the rattan hitting shields across the field... but you can't go play because you're waiting in line at troll! pre-register! Celeste and Guenhwyfar are happy to take your money

Franscesca is in charge of water bearers, she wants your gallon milk jugs, please! Please PLEASE wash them out well before giving them to her. Don't put the caps back onto wet jugs. And if anyone would like to give an hour to waterbearing, she'd really appreciate it.

The Hofla's shaping up nicely, there will be a few classes, lots of good music, Baron Durr is coming, should be fun :)

Archery guild is meeting this sunday right after thier regular practice to make targets for NOWM, you don't have to be a member of the guild to help out!

Also this sunday the scribes will be meeting to work on scrolls (yay we actually have the list!) at Nial and Myfanwy's home, it'll be a potluck.

There will be classes at the event, there's a fairly complete track of classes though the class coordinator (that'd be me ;) would still like a class on the history of the Crusades to go with our theme. The class list is posted on the website.

There will be a fencing novice tourney at the event as well as fencing melees, please if you are a fencer or marshal, let Snowden know if you're going to be participating.

Anyone who wants to help out with children's activities, in particular teaching the kids a craft, storytellers and bards, etc, please see Marsali.

SCA BUSINESS:

We have a new prince and princess of the Midrealm, hoobah for Rangvaldr and Arabella.

There is going to be a Cleftlands Tent on the battlefield this Pennsic, using the proceeds from last year's auction to feed fighters, spectators and water bearers and keep everyone healthy and happy. Please see Nial if you'd like to volunteer time to man the tent. It's important that someone be there. A non-Cleftlands household has already volunteered time! Also, we intend on having an auction again this year. See Nial for details.

There is a new Forum out and our Chronicler's declaired it ex-officer appreciation day... er, okay she accidentally used the wrong officer list so the Forum's incorrect, many appologies.

Anyone interested in authorizing in combat archery by Pennsic, see Edward over at the far end of the fighting list after meeting.

This Saturday is Melee in the Marche, if you are planning on fighting at that event, see Syr Theo, same spot as Edward.
Also at Melee in the Marche, there will be a regeonal Rapier Championship, ooo.

We have regeonal and Kingdom Arts and Sciences winners, Lady Constance? Fairfax for the Kingdom and Lady Mer-can't-read-my-own-handwritting Rentathaler for the Oaken regeon. Saradwen had an opportunity to judge entries at the competition and was most impressed by them. Please consider entering Arts and Science competitions, they're a lot of fun and you get a lot of good feedback on your projects.

Guild masters! Our Chatalaine still wants write ups for her little 'Welcome to the Cleftlands' booklet! Only two of you've given her write ups, grrr. She knows who you are. Fear the might of Lady Alex!

Dance Guild has a meeting on Monday June 11th, yes it's right after NOWM, don't worry we'll take it easy on you. Show up, have fun, you don't have to be a member of the guild to attend and we'll likely be talking about the video we want to shoot! One of our intrepid members is going to shoot a video of guild members dancing in garb, oooo. Those interested in helping out or wanting details please contact Milesent (that's me!)

Anyone who as ever been an officer of the Cleftlands, Guild master or a member of the Order of the Winged Trine your assistant Chronicler wants to know when you held that office, position, were inducted into the order etc. I wanna know! :)

Archery is still meeting every sunday at Lucus archery (there are directons on our website by the by, linked off of the calendar) please come out this sunday and help make targets for NOWM.

Anyone interested in scouting, combat scouts, stealth scouts spying on the eastern army, etc... please see Darius.

DEMOS:

June 13th there's a daytime demo for the cub scouts,
June 22nd ditto, different group of cub scouts
one day the week of July 16 - 20th a daytime demo for yet another group of cub scouts

and Baycrafters is coming! Can you do an easy class that all the fair goers can participate in? A more complicated craft they can view you doing? There will be fencing and heavy weapons tourneys every day with prizes! see Darius, Lady Alex or Lady Sarra if you want details!

NON-SCA:

Shlomo will be running a photo salon at meeting (next meeting?) there are flyers available on the table.

The Treasures of Antioch exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art closes sunday! Go see it, it's gorgeous.

Remember the kittens Valorian was trying to find homes for last year? Well... one of them had kittens. See him if you're interested in having a cute cat.

The Case Western Reserve University booksale opens this weekend! They fill a gymnasium with books, it's fabulous. pre sale opens at 10 o'clock, the real sale opens at 11. See Alda or our favorite CWRU person for details.

Speaking of books, the Armour of the Battle of Wisby is being reprinted after so many years! It should be released just in time for Pennsic, both volumes are being published in one book. Details on the publisher's website or talk to Donasian, he's hyped ;)

The eastern suburbs Rugby club's spring season is over, aww. They will be fighting, er, playing in the Ohio games in Oberlin (this weekend?) and meet for summer practices starting next week on tuesday and thursdays at the Cuyahoga County Airport. Also please keep his lady in your thoughts, she's been ill.

A mundane English Dance group is having thier last dance of the season this friday, see the usual suspects for details (Dance guild, Angharad, Aiden, Angie, etc.)

Aiden has fabric, he doesn't want to take it all home, $1 a yard, plus the scraps are free.

There's a rumor that on-line registration for Pennsic will remain open until June 15th for us late comers.

Keep in mind the next CWRU Demo is Sept. 15th!

For those who know them, Owen De Claire and his lady shall be visiting Cleveland June 13th - 20th, see Vashti for details.

Ulrich Rickers hasn't been around lately, he was in a minor car accident and then was in the hospital for some minor heart trouble. Two things which are still frightening even with the word 'minor' in front. Keep him in your thoughts, hopefully he'll return soon.
