2-4- Mayfaire {Cuil Cholium} NOWM:servers and kitchen help will be needed as well as help preparing some side dishes that will be prepared in advance of the event. See Mattheas for details. There will be a site walk through for staff on Sunday, remember to drive slowly! There are campers and children at the site and tires throw gravel. If you are a marshal for the event, Stephan would love a schedule from you of activities. There will be a Rapier Novice tourney (You can enter if you have never won a tourney, this includes small tourneys at demos and the like) and Rapier melees, see Snowden about those. Timothy will be in charge of security, see him if you're interested in helping there. Darius is coordinating waterbearers. Please be collecting milk jugs and cleaning them /thoroughly/. Do not leave wet jugs capped, fuzzies are bad. Nial recommends using a drop of bleach to sanitize milk jugs (rinse well afterward, of course!) Seadna will be taking reservations for the event starting next week. It's not too late to volunteer to be staff for the event, staff get in free! His soon-to-be Majesty Pieter will be in attendence so there will be a court. Write award recomendations early and make the scribes happy! There will be not one, not two, not three but four! Rubber band cannons this year, gun crew captains Fitzranulf, Pietro, Timothy and Ealdred need you! Authorize rapier and you can be a gun monkey. SCA Buisness:Emrys and Cassia are starting up the woodworkers guild again. There will be a beginning chip carving class at next dessert revel (May 28th) There is a sign up sheet if you are interested, the class will be limited. Care will be taken for safety but these are still knives. There may be a waiver. Armourer's guild will meet on thursday as usual at Ealdred and Clairiel's. If you're interested in being the next armourer's guild master see Timothy. No experience, crash space or equipment necessary! Baron Wars isn't that far away, a good event to get your tent ready for NOWM and Pennsic! Also it will host the Oaken Reageonal Rapier Championship, see Snowden for details. Midrealm Warrior's project - get info to Katerine verch G. If the soldier is on active duty overseas, provide their family address instead. Archery will be on Sunday at JJT Archery (Formerly known as Lucus Archery) at 1pm. The Albion Woods range has opened for the season, see Jared for details about a possible west side practice starting up. Cooks Guild meetings have been the sunday prior to Dessert Revel for about six months now, and judging by the low turnout this is not a good time. If you've a sugestion for a better meeting time, please see Ealdred. We will be fighting outside more now that the weather is nice, Nial urges everyone to wear garb especially on dessert revels as we do attract notice on the lawn. The city of Euclid gets many calls on a thursday. Happy Birthday SCA! Welcome to A.S. 38 THe Dance Guild will be having a meeting after general meeting next door to discuss who the guild mistress/master is! Milesent quits! ;) Oh, and there will be dancing too, naturally. Lost and found: some quilting squares and a JoAnne Fabrics coupon were found, if no one claims 'em Nial's going to use the coupon (it expires tomorrow). And some scribe left a t-square. DEMOS:There will be a demo coming up shortly for Saint Christine's school (Down east 222nd street from our meeting site) Edward Brackenburye is the contact for info about that demo. Baycrafters! It's not too early to plan, if you can provide a pavillion and shade see Darius, he'd also like a list of people who can attend and what days they will be there. There is another BIG Demo the next weekend too: The Euclid Community Faire. The Euclid demo may result in a decrease in our meeting site fee or recieving a free meeting site! Seneschal flyers will go out for these two big, important and very close together demos. Alda will not be able to go to Baycrafters this year, but she has the tools and is willing to meet and teach someone how to make paper so that her paper making kit can be at the demo. See her if you're interested in learning this craft. Also Darius is resigning as Demo Cordinator. See him if you'd like to apply for the position. NON-SCA:The Italian Manuscript exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art ends this weekend! Go see it! Free admission. (Also Chisato works at the museum, see him about catalog ordering info) Katerine ferch G. has the University of Pennsylvania Press catalogue, lots of good, cheep reference books, see her for details. Gallery Cafe in Euclid on east 185th street has a dance share on monday nights and drum circle on thursdays, all are welcome. Nial has a copy of the Shore Center calendar, there are a lot of classes taught here at the shore center that may be of interest to SCA folk, pottery classes, etc. It'll be on the table for those who want to look.
