Thank You's for Standard Bearer's:

The autocrat wished to thank her staff, she spent a lot of the day sitting down much to her suprize! Snowden thanked the 5 rapier combatants, especially how they put asside the rules so that one of them who had forgotten his gear could go home and get it so he could compete delaying the start of the tourney *many glares at Lubeck, I've no idea why.*, the tourney still ran without a hitch and finished on time. Elayne von Koenignsburg thanked everyone who helped with archery, especially the marshals. We had several marshals from other areas help out including one fellow in particular who demonstrated as well. Vashti thanked those who stepped forward to pinch herald as she'd lost her voice that day! And noted that in the friend or foe archery shoot there was a midrealm fighter and eastern fighter cut outs, and no Cleftlander hit the midrealm fighter! Clairiel thanked everyone who helped out in the kitchen, serving and running the lunch kitchen. Reportedly there was a 'memorable presentation' to High Table. Chisato thanked everyone who helped with clean up leaving him with far less to do than he expected. Christina thanked those who helped with setup and security, in particular Calum for taking over security so Bastian could participate in the archery activities. Lady Alex thanked Conrad and Kat for running the heavy list.

SCA Buisness:

Armourer's guild will be thursday night at Dave and Clariel's as usual. See Timothy for details. Also Timothy is looking for someone to take over the guild, no experience in armouring necessary.

Demos: The demo for this friday is canceled due to a scheduling conflict. There is a demo coming up in September for the City of Euclid the weekend after baycrafters. Also Darius is stepping down as Demo Coordinator, if you're interested in the job, please see him.

The rattan order is in, see Rutgur or Timothy if you ordered Rattan.

Cienwen is looking for someone to take over the Baronial gold key. See her or Rutgur if you've the closet space to spare.

Archery practice will be at 1 o'clock at Lucus Archery as usual. Note the west side Albion Woods range will be opening again for the season soon.

Needleworkers - There are a lot of projects coming up, we'll be participating in the Midrealm Hood Project, the hoods are actually fairly easy to sew, plus the guild has plans to outfit the baronial fighters, fencers and archers with tabbards and the like. See Lyonnete to volunteer to help! Or if you are a fighter/fencer/archer in need. Yes, boffer fighters too (they take less material anyways) the guild will be expecting some compensation for materials.

It's not too early to be thinking about Northern Oaken. If you want to teach a class at the event or teach a class at meeting in the near future, see Edward Brackenburye.

The far travelling Mistress Marixsa is with us and has Kimonos, come look and buy authentic japanese clothing for your eastern persona at rock bottom prices from the mistress. She's heading back to Japan on Monday.

There will be a cook's guild meeting at Ealdred and Clariel's on sunday at 3 o'clock, keeping the sunday before dessert revel as the regular guild meeting. See Clariel for details.

Monday the 28th the Brewers will be meeting at Nial's home. They'll start with a cherry soda and a root beer and then brew some alcoholic beer. See Nial for details.

From the Baron and Baroness:

Ephraim and Madelaine expressed their gratitude to the staff of the event, both have served as event staff or autocrats so they do appreciate the ammount of work. Madelaine in particular wanted to thank whoever arranged for the beautiful weather! The event was suprisingly well attended by visitors from other groups, and some of our own came from far to attend, Mistress Marixsa of Crawfordmere travelling by far the furthest! Note that Marixsa was the first Cleftlander to be a card carrying member of the SCA! (She also wrote the first Chronicle of the Cleftlands, available on our website- http://cleftlands.cwru.edu/archive/marixsa.asp)

Their Excellencies announced our new Standard Bearer: Crispin dela Roucfauld (sp?), who may style himself Champion of the Cleftlands, The Champion d'arc is Stephan Von Lubeck, who may style himself Archery Champion, and Garvin the Slow was quick enough to come away with both Champion d'epe and Champion d'arms. In addition there were other competitions that day, including youth boffer combat and youth archery. Ephraim gave several eloquent words about the importance of the participation of our younger members and for youth archery in particular the fact that one does not need to be 18 to help the Midrealm win the war.

At this point Elayne came forward to announce the winner of the day's youth archery competition, Kon, and present him with a lovely scroll and a pouch as the prize. She also had a basket of goodies for the other youth archers who competed.

Here Opens the Court of Their Excellences Madelaine and Ephraim, Baron and Baroness of the Cleftlands:

At the event it was announced that the Order of the Winged Trine has been closed, but some recognition cannot wait for a new Order to be named and so Their Excellences called forward Lord Timothy Woodhill to show him thier sincere appreciation for his efforts. (This recognition was given at the event, but Lord Timothy had departed early.) Hoobah!

There being no further buisness, court was closed and meeting was ended.
