See the gatekeeper if you'd like to be added to the waiting list and note that if you really want to eat feast... there's still plenty of room for servers! And servers get the sumptuous feast for half price. The site walk through on tuesday went well, both of Their Highnesses made it despite the inclimate weather. The Autocrats have decided where everything will be, if you're on staff and don't know where you're going to be, see them. Snowden would like to have someone videotape morning court... and Alda pipped up that she has TWO people videotaping, not to worry. Ian is in charge of security and thanks to the site walk through now realizes what a BIG HALL it is, he has two people, he needs at least three times as many. See him if you're interested in helping out. There are only 6 servers for feast, Ceinwen wants to have all of her servers by this Saturday, she is not going to recruit on the day of the event. See Ceinwen or her lovely assistant Rutgur for details. James le Hauke is in charge of the lunch kitchen, he brought some samples of lunch for people to try tonight, please give him feedback. Also he will need 2 people to help set up the lunch counter and one to help him man it, see him if you're interested. There will be a Herald's consulting table and announcements made throughout the day, if you can walk, read and shout (not necessarily at the same time) please see Pietro to volunteer to help with announcements. No experience necessary. There is a beautiful scroll made by Guenhwyfar for St. Michael's Hospital, thanking them for allowing us to use their parking lot for the event. oooo, ahhh. SCA Buisness:There was Combat Archery Practice sunday despite the snow, only a few souls braved the weather, but they had a lot of fun. If you want to do Combat Archery and have never authorized, you must authorize by April 30th to play at Pennsic. Klaus, Will and the rest of the Combat Archery team are going to be meeting sunday after Coronation, April 14th, yes, everyone's going to be tired, but we'll have the advantage of a lot of fighters and marshals being in town. See Klaus or Sir Will if you're interested or would like to express an opinion about meeting dates for April 20th or 21st. A Combat Archery authorization requires at least 6 to 7 fighters in addition to marshals for melee targets. The Chronicler is putting together a Cleftlands Literary Review, hopefully to be presented at our Standard Bearer's event. See her, it doesn't have to be good content, just written (or drawn) by you and have a medieval or SCA theme. Also, there is a new issue of the Forum tonight, enjoy. um, that other paper, the Chronicler disavows any knowledge of. Archery will not be meeting this weekend due to Easter, they will be meeting again next week. Ian would like to see Archery Marshals after meeting to plan next months schedule. Armourer's guild is meeting as usual thursday night 7pm for bang-bang, however there will be no armourer's guild next week. See Timothy for details. Those Scurlious Scribes struck again, there's a Cleft View on the table, somehow Fitzranulf seems to have aquired some copies of back issues as well. Remember the boxes for their Highnesses to use when they are Their Magesties at Pennsic for gifts to other royalty? Well, one got returned to Alda so if you'd like to paint a box and perferably aren't already painting one, see her. The boxes are due June first. Predur is doing a puppet show for the demo for Rainbow Babies late this year, if you're interested in helping him out on that, please see him. Also he's interested in talking to people interested in Folklore, mythology and storytelling... which is a lot like puppet shows um... see him. A&S domesday's coming up, Edward would like to have a lot for his report. If you've been doing any arts and sciences please let him know, especially if you're a guild head, he wants to know what you're doing. There's a sign up sheet as well. Lord Nial is looking to schedule his Root Beer class for possibly next dessert revel, see him for details. Lady Seadna is teaching glass bead making, she'll be wrapping up soon as the beads need time to cool so that folks can take them home, but she has flyers on glass beads, other beads and cataloges for ordering if you've previously become addicted. Also at May dessert revel, Lady Alex will be teaching glass painting. These two good ladies are the leaders of our Glassworker's Guild, see them if you are interested in the art of glassworking. (and then tell Edward you've been doing A&S) DEMOS:May 5th there is a Dance Demo for Stone Creek Grave, they'd like to learn some dances. In addition to Darius or his deputy you can see the Dance Guild mistress for details. Friday May 24th there is a Demo for a Shaker Heights school, (high school? middle school?) from around 3:30pm (when school closes) until 7:00pm. The students are putting on a medieval/renaissance faire and would like 'extras', jugglers, dancers, bards, etc. June 30th and July 7th, both sundays, two demos for a camp of kids. These are older kids and good potential SCAdians! See Lady Alex for Details. Baycrafters is coming up fast this year, Darius would like all the planning to be done before Pennsic, see him for details. There is a Demo coming up in October for Rainbow Babies, see Lady Alex for details, there are items being prepared as gifts for the children at that demo. Non SCA:
Fitz is still trying to sell that Vashti has a good tent for sale, it's a great tent, just too large for one girl to take to Pennsic, see her for details. And as His Grace was not in attendance, that is all for this week.
And that is all for this week... In service, |
