You'd better all raise your hands. Who has concerns or worries about the polling? If you do, come see me. A baron should be able to answer baronial questions just as a seneschal should be able to answer administrative questions. The polling is an inevitable bit of beurocracy, don't loose sleep over it. The SCA is certainly more than just a hobby to many of us, partially because the courtessy, ideals and chivalry are real, not a part of the costumes we wear. If you are concerned or know someone who is not here who may be concerned pass on to them, don't worry. Do not act on hearsay or inuendo, ask the appropriate people, cast the cold light of day on actual facts. We do not intend for this barony to be blown apart by hearsay, but to be a model for other baronies to follow. Talk to me, Talk to Nial. Secondly, there is another movie coming out soon, one without little boys on broomsticks or individuals named 'Binks' who should have large objects hurled at them, but about nine guys who took a walk over most of thier world to toss something in a volcano. Tolkien is near and dear to my heart, has been since I first read the books some four decades ago and I'm interested in hearing anyone's insights on the new movie, be they trepedation or anticipation. (At this point Monty 'ruined' the ending for members of the audience unfamiliar with the story, and His Grace challenged him to say it in elvish this time... Monty's response was "After you, Your Grace" at which point His Grace did indeed give us a short discourse in elvin.) And that translates to: Meeting's over.
And that is all for this week... In service, |
