The Shore Center building is going to become a 'profitable enterprize' we'll have more info on that venture and how it effects our lease (which will be up in December) by mid-October. See Lord Nial for details.

SCA BUISNESS:

If you have opinions on what should happen with the profits from the Pennsic Auction please see Nial, the fencers asked that some of the money go toward the dress gorgets for the Order of the Bronze Ring, and that has happened. Also $200 is set asside for the party at next Pennsic, there's talk of sending the money to the Pale to keep the kingdom newsletter in the same format. See Nial if you've questions, comments or concerns.

Nial has a calendar and schedule for his fall brewing, he will be teaching some classes as well, Brewers see Nial.

Marsaili was also not here last week, she'd like to thank everyone who helped out with Children's activities at the event especially Bastian for his Castle Wall, the children loved it, and to Lady Alex and the fighters for making the children's tourney a sucess.

Karl wished to thank Rutgur for bringing him his misplaced valise... with all the A&S stuff in it! He also wanted to thank the judges for the fashion show and congratulate Clariel for winning. If you've done any A&S projects for the month of September, please get them to Karl as soon as possible, he's compiling his end of the quarter report. Also anyone interested in taking over the position of Arts and Sciences minister, please see Lord Karl or Lord Nial

The Demo for OhioMart this weekend at Stan Hewett will be archery friendly and allow crossbows, they will do full royal rounds etc. Archery Guild is cancelled for sunday so that all the archers may attend the demo. If you are driving to the demo, make certain you get one of our 'Anachronisms' window signs for your car. The parking shuttle does not run all day, the schedule is posted on the OhioMart website. For details, contact Katarina Wanderer: katakira@aol.com

Celeste has a treasure trove of lost and found items from the event, she doesn't want them. Come see her if you're missing anything.

There will be Armourer's guild on thursday, location to be announced. See Lord Timothy for details (pinbal67@aol.com)

As the Chronicler /and/ her deputy are going on a small little trip for the next two weeks, Lady Katerine du Val shall be the second runner up super stunt double deputy Chronicler. Treat her nice.

(For Website issues while we're out of town, see Donasian, super secret stunt double webmaster! bjf10@po.cwru.edu)

Darius wished to thank everyone again for Coronation, it was thanks to everyone that it was such a sucess.

There have been changes to the rules for scouting armour, see Darius if you're a scout or interested in scouting or stealth scouting.

Now that we've had a moment to recover from Coronation... there's this event coming up in January... Sir Ephraim is autocratting the January event this year, it is not too early to volunteer, the deadline for the Pale is November 1st so we want to have the staff settled as soon as possible. It's intended to be a 'teaching' event, feel free to volunteer to help out with an activity you've never had a chance to do before, you'll be paired up with good mentors. See Sir Ephraim to volunteer or with questions.

Definately see Timothy about armourer's guild if you plan on attending.

DEMOS:

There is the OhioMart demo this weekend, friday, Saturday and Sunday, everyone should know about that, if you don't... see Darius

there's a demo coming up in December, more details as that date draws nearer.

NON-SCA Buisness:

Ser Nicholas's young man at arms Elyis 13 today, hoobah

There are flyers on the table for the final performance of troup Daylim lahib (Is that even remotely spelled right?) Saturday October 13th, they are donating the proceeds from thier performance to disaster relief and have a sponsor who will match thier donation dollar for dollar. see Lady Celeste for details.

CWRU Medieval Society is having a demo/mini event this saturday from 1pm to 4pm outside the Kelvin Smith Library (I know, it conflicts with Ohio Mart but... ) they will be having games, play with thier trebuchet and reportedly have niffty prizes. See Lyonnete, Milesent or Donasian for details.

Lyonnete has given little sachets to every combatant who entered the A&S competition at Coronation, there are little shield shaped sachets and little frilly lacy sachets... and she has extras. If you want one, take! :)

From His Grace:

There has been talk of giving to disaster relief, and over the past few weeks its become apparent that there is no limit to what is needed on the East coast. Food, clothing, emotional support... How many here knew someone who was in New York at the time? How many lost someone? Now, how many knew someone who lost someone? There you see... the degree of separation from us to this tragedy is very slight. one or two degrees of separation.

We are generally well off, generally comfortable and very much alive, it is up to us to lend a hand, give a small donation and do what we can... however don't forget the other 6 billion people. We're here wearing costumes having a good time, it's important to remember the rest of the world and those disasters that are farther away from us. I don't often use the SCA as a personal pulpit, but this is an issue important to me. Months from now, give up a couple pizzas and remember someone else with a donation.

And that is all for this week...

In service,
Milesent
