The January Event!

From the autocrat, Snowden: Yes, the January Event is on the 25th. We need hands for set up Friday night, we have masonite flooring to lay down in the gym, we can get in 9-10:30 Friday to lay down gym floor. We should be able to get into the site around 6pm on Friday, so show up at six, we’ll do the gym floor last. If you want to show up late to help with the floor- great! The more hands we have, the quicker it’s done and we can all go home, because some of us need to be there at 7am the next morning!

Need help tearing down Sat night. More hands, the quicker it’s done and we can all go home.

Satudary morning we can get in 8am – maybe 7. Feast is 30% sold out and going fast. Please pre-reg! It’s a good looking feast. See Hauke – the theme is a winter’s hunt. A lot of wild game meat: duck, venison, rabbit. If you have any questions as to the menu, etc, see Hauke. A lot of the food allergies can be worked out – we’re going to make it so Theo can eat! If we can get five or six people to give an hour or two of their time the day of the event in the kitchen, the head cook will be so happy. We need two more people to volunteer to bake 6 loaves of bread for the feast

Children’s activities will open at 8 o’clock. Schedule will be posted to web site ASAP.

Rutgur is THIS close to having everyone he needs to serve feast. Serve- show up an hour early, eat early, and feast is free. Also requested to stay an hour afterward to clear tables. Servers are not expected to do dishes.

We will need heraldic assistance. We will doing announcements every hour – see Vashti.

One thing about Troll: non-member surcharge is in affect, please show your card when you pre-reg or at the troll. Even the troll’s hubby will be carded! A current issue of the pale can substitute for your membership card as proof of membership.

General SCA Announcements:

Armorer’s guild will be meeting Thursday at Ealdred and Clariel’s. See Timothy, Ealdred or Clariel for details.

Today was the deadline to submit bids for this year’s Standard Bearer’s event.

Archery – still meeting Sundays 1pm at Lucas Archery. Next Tuesday is guild meeting. We will have officer nominations. A lot of offices are open. Show up or you might be elected! Meeting will be at 7pm at Imre’s.

Aiden: scribal workshop this Tuesday – second Tuesdays of the month, 7:00 ish, his house. See him or Hely for directions.

Alex: see her if you want to check anything out of the barony’s new lending library – we have all of the Society handbooks. Also, glass working on Friday nights at her house.

Lending Library is listed in the Pale – all the handbooks from the society. Laws, officer handboodks, etc.

Rutgur- Capt. Conrad will command this year’s champions team!
