lys Katharine is a thrice-widowed woman living on her dower lands in 13th century England. She sometimes appears in other centuries. In the SCA, her interests are collecting reproductions of period cookery texts. She has been known to bead trim obsessively and to make lucet cording by the mile. Alys was the coordinator for developing the SCA newcomer guide "Forward Into the Past". She developed the Office of Chatelain for the Middle Kingdom and served as its first and third Chatelaines. She coordinated the Pennsic A&S classes for PW 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30.
In modern life, Elise Fleming is a Spanish teacher in an inner-city-type high school and is looking forward to retiring from public school teaching in two years. She has three adult children and two cats.
